Green Club AGREEMENT FORM - {{app_data.clubname}}

The purpose of this document is to inform selected clubs of what is involved in the Green Club Programme and to ensure their commitment. The Club Chairperson or Club Secretary must be aware of the requirements and agree to submit this form.

Phase 2 of the Green Club Programme will run through 2023 and 2024.

Clubs are required to implement a minimum of two (2) Green Club actions and follow a series of Milestones (Steps) between March 2023 and September 2024.

These Milestones (Steps) are:

  • 1. Establish a Green Team
  • 2. Training & Upskilling
  • 3. Club & Community Mapping
  • 4. Audit
  • 5. Action
  • 6. Charter Launch & Project Communication
  • 7. Review & Report

The detailed requirements of each Milestone (Step) are outlined at https://learning.gaa.ie/greenclub/milestones

Participation in the project requires:

  • Completion of each Milestone (Step) as per the details, and in particular
  • Representation at or Review of Orientation Information
  • Representation at a Regional event in late 2023/early 2024 (TBC)
  • Full engagement with the Green Club reporting and evaluation process (more detail to follow).
  • Clubs are required to document their progress through the Green Clubs Portal.

The GAA Green Club Steering Group will review the club's progress in September 2024 and successful clubs will be recognised officially in October/November 2024.

Data Protection Statement:

During the Green Club Programme participating clubs will submit various information, reports and media (photographs and video) to promote the club's engagement and document progress. The information collected will be held by the GAA Community and Health Department in electronic and/or hard copy format. The information will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 1988 and the Data Protection (Amendment) Act, 2003 (as may be amended or replaced from time to time).

The purpose of holding this information is to facilitate the delivery of Phase 2 of the Green Club Programme.  Your data will be retained by the GAA Community and Health Department for the duration of Phase 2 of the Green Club Programme. However, we may retain the information provided after Phase 2 of the Green Club Programme has been completed, to provide further support and communication to clubs.

The information held may be shared within the GAA, LGFA and Camogie organisations to promote and support delivery of the Green Club Programme. Disclosure of any of your information to GAA Community and Health Department partners, such as statutory bodies, DECC, Healthy Ireland and Sport Ireland will occur only in accordance with the GAA data protection policy. Information may be shared with media partners via press, radio and online channels for promotion purposes. Explicit consent will be sought from the Club Executive Committee should the GAA Community and Health Department wish to disclose information about your club to any other third party for any other reason.

The right to request a copy of the information held by the GAA Community and Health Department can be sought by the Club/County Executive contacting us.  Any information requested will be provided within a month.  The right to have information we hold updated, rectified or deleted may be sought at any time, via a request in writing from your Club/County Executive.

If further information is required or if a complaint or breach is to be reported the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Canal House, Station Road, Portarlington, Co. Laois, www.dataprotection.ie or info@dataprotection.ie should be contacted.

Use of Media and Photographs:

The GAA Community & Health Department aims to ensure that the health and wellbeing of members, clubs, and communities is at the core of all GAA activity. This is achieved by providing all units and members of the Association with access to appropriate support and information.

In fulfilling our aim, part of the GAA Community and Health Department remit is to utilise media resources, such as video, photographs and audio to promote the activities engaged in by clubs and counties.  Subsequently, reports, videos, photographs and audio materials received by the department from clubs/counties may bedistributed to and publicly displayed by the GAA, Provincial Councils, County Boards, other affiliated GAA Club and national/ regional media partners.
